Chief Operating Officer
As the newest member of the Blue Water Development’s leadership team, Chief Operations Officer Bob Thompson offers a diverse background in management, real estate and finance.
The Maryland native enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1984, fresh from high school. While serving, he earned an associate degree in business marketing (magna cum laude) from Wor-Wic Community College then “stumbled into” a career in banking. Bob left 1st Mariner Mortgage in 2006, as senior vice president, and worked as a financial advisor for Merrill Lynch before opening a private financial practice. In 2010, Bob was appointed general manager of the Ocean Pines Association, a position he held for six years. As chief administrative officer, Bob created annual budgets in excess of $12 million, for managing day-to-day operations, and for advising board members on financial conditions and future needs of the HOA.
Bob joined Blue Water January 2017. His rich background in management and finances, as well as his familiarity with permits and procedures at local, regional and statewide levels, make him a key link between the real estate developer and the clients, investors and communities served.
